Storage (SSD/HDD)

Relax. We'll talk through this in plain words — no textbook voice.

Storage is where Windows, apps, games, projects, photos, and videos live permanently. An SSD has a surprisingly huge effect on how smooth a PC feels — a good CPU with the OS booting off an HDD is like driving a Ferrari on a gravel road.

Storage Plan Recommendations

  • Basic: 500GB NVMe SSD — for Windows, apps, and documents.
  • Gaming: 1TB NVMe SSD — modern games take up a lot of space.
  • Creator: 1TB/2TB NVMe SSD + an extra HDD/SSD — it's good to separate project files, cache, and exports.
  • Data Safety: Don't keep important files on just one drive. Back them up to an external drive or the cloud.

OS Drive vs Data Drive

Keep the OS and apps on the NVMe SSD. If you keep photos, videos, and archives on a separate drive, reinstalling Windows is much less likely to affect your data.
