When it comes to assembly, speed doesn't matter — accuracy does. Work through the steps below one at a time.
- Prep Your Workspace — Clean table, screw tray, manual, and tools ready to go.
- Install the CPU — Place the motherboard on its box and line up the CPU's triangle mark with the socket's mark. Don't press down on it.
- Install RAM — Use the A2/B2 slots per the motherboard manual. Press down evenly until you hear a click.
- Install the M.2 SSD — Remove the M.2 screw, insert the SSD at an angle, press it flat, then re-tighten the screw.
- Install the CPU Cooler — Apply a pea-sized dab of thermal paste if needed. Remove the cooler's plastic film.
- Prep the Case — Remove the side panels and check that the standoffs are correctly positioned.
- Install the Motherboard — If the I/O shield isn't built in, install it first. Align the board with the standoffs and tighten the screws.
- Install the PSU — Orient the fan to match the case's airflow direction.
- Connect Power Cables — Connect the 24‑pin motherboard, 8‑pin CPU EPS, and any needed SATA power cables.
- Install the GPU — Seat it firmly in the PCIe x16 slot and tighten the case bracket screw. Connect the GPU power cable.
- Connect Front Panel Cables — Connect the power switch, reset, LED, and front USB/audio per the manual.
- Connect Case Fans — Connect them to fan headers or a fan hub and check intake/exhaust direction.
- Cable Management — Tuck cables behind the tray so they don't block airflow.
- First Boot Test — Connect the monitor to the GPU port, flip the power switch on, and wait for the first boot.
- Enter BIOS/UEFI — Check whether CPU/RAM/SSD are detected.
- Enable XMP/EXPO — Enable it to get your RAM's advertised speed. If stability suffers, revert to default.
- Install the OS — Boot from the Windows USB drive.
- Install Drivers — Install chipset, GPU, Wi‑Fi/Bluetooth drivers, and run Windows Update.
- Temperature/Stability Test — Check idle/load temperatures, fan noise, and any restart issues.
Safety: If a loose screw is left inside the case, find and remove it before powering on. A stray metal screw can cause a short.
