Build a Study Context Pack

Relax. We'll talk through this in plain words — no textbook voice.

What you'll walk away with

  • Understand how to build a Study Context Pack without feeling intimidated by it
  • Get hands-on practice using it yourself
  • Learn to smile and steer clear of guessing and secrets

Relax. We'll walk through this chapter like a conversation, not a textbook, so it's easy to follow.

Think about it this way for a second

There's nothing new in this project. Include / cut / summarize / ask back / no secrets / check the date — it all comes together and lands on just 4 cards. The cards are Explain from notes, Quiz from notes, Fix my answer, and I don't get this. Each one needs a single goal, 1-2 pieces of evidence, a missing-info path, and a no-secrets rule. Then test each card with three different inputs: a clear set of notes, a messy one, and an old one. That's what makes the pack truly your own.

Let's connect this to everyday life

Write it all in one file. Each card needs a When, a Pack, a Drop, a Missing, and a Freshness. If you want to pair it with your prompt pack, pull the Goal from that card and the evidence from this one. You don't need a UI yet. You don't need vector memory yet. Once your little table-card booklet is done, this course is done too. Later, you can bring in RAG to search and feed results straight into these same cards.

Let's try it together

5-minute try-it

Write 4 cards. Test one of them with three inputs: clear, messy, and old. Attach the corrected card.

One quick word of caution

A pretty pack doesn't mean the table is set correctly. It only becomes your own tool once you've tested it against old text.

Easy traps

  • Writing 15 cards and never testing a single one of them
  • Dumping the entire history into every single card

Now try it yourself

Write 4 cards. Test one of them with three inputs: clear, messy, and old. Attach the corrected card.

You'll know it worked when: Finish one fully tested Study Context Pack.
